Colorectal Surgery

Dr Aaron Poh

Dr Aaron Poh is a fully accredited General Surgery specialist with the Specialist Accreditation Board and Ministry of Health, with double subspecialties in Colorectal surgery and Trauma surgery. He is currently the Medical Director at Alpine Surgical Practice.

Dr Poh obtained his M.B.B.S (Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery) from the National University of Singapore in 2004. He then entered the MOH General Surgical training programme in 2006 and obtained his Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (F.R.C.S Edinburgh) in 2015. He was also accepted into the Colorectal Fellowship programme in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, UK in 2014.  His special interest is in minimally invasive colorectal cancer surgery and exenterative surgery for advanced cancers.

In clinical practice, Dr Aaron Poh has two core beliefs that he has constantly adhered to. Firstly, that each patient is unique because of their medical condition, social & cultural background, and individual beliefs, thus requiring individualised treatments. Secondly, he believes in providing up-to-date evidence-based treatments to patients while balancing against going for new and untested techniques. These beliefs have enabled him to provide safe and good-quality care to his patients

Plastic Surgery

Dr Adrian Ooi

Dr Adrian Ooi is an MOH-accredited, board-certified plastic surgeon with extensive training and experience in modern reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, with a focus on aesthetic plastic surgery of the eyes and face, breast augmentation and reconstruction, head and neck surgery lymphedema surgery and extremity reconstruction.

Dr Ooi exercises a “patient-first” approach, focusing on embracing individual uniqueness when designing customized treatment plans. He believes in harnessing advanced plastic surgery techniques and technology to ensure a smooth and rapid recovery, with an emphasis on reducing post-operative discomfort for his patients.

He graduated from medical school in London, where he was awarded the MBBS (Bachelor in Medicine, Bachelor in Surgery). Afterwards, he pursued further medical and surgical training in London, Singapore and the United States. Dr Ooi completed his plastic surgery training at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH), and was quickly advanced to a consultant in the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery, and the SingHealth DukeNUS Head and Neck Center. He then completed his advanced reconstructive fellowship at the University of Chicago Medical Centre under Scholarship from MOH and following this, his advanced aesthetic fellowship at the Wellington Hospital in London.

Dr Ang Teck Kee

Dr. Ang Teck Kee is a Consultant and Interventional Cardiologist with more than 15 years of clinical experience. Even during his undergraduate days in NUS, he was actively involved in organising volunteer work and was awarded a Volunteer Appreciation Award by Dover Park Hospice in 2001. He graduated from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2004 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS).

Dr Anne Tan Kendrick

Dr Anne Tan Kendrick is currently Consultant Radiologist, Radlink Diagnostic Imaging (S) Pte Ltd., and Visiting Consultant, Raffles Hospital, Singapore. She was Head, Paediatric Radiology & Nuclear Medicine Services KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Singapore, from 1999-2004. She is Principal Member (General Medical Council, UK, Specialist Register), Member (Singapore Medical Council, Specialist Register), Fellow (Academy of Medicine, Singapore), Fellow (Royal College of Radiologists, UK), Member (Singapore Radiology Society), Member (Society for Pediatric Radiology), Member (European Society for Pediatric Radiology),

She was President (Association of Women Doctors, Singapore, 2000-2004), and Executive Committee Member (PAP Women’s Wing, 2005). She has published extensively in the field of pediatric and general radiology. She was the recipient of the President’s Scholarship (Republic of Singapore, 1982), Queens’ College Foundation Scholar (Cambridge, 1986), Overseas Graduate Scholarship (Oxford University, 1986), Caffey Award (Society for Pediatric Radiology, North America, 1999). She is an accomplished musician (Licentiate of the Royal School of Music, Pianoforte Performing) and Flamenco Dancer, and has been involved in competitive athletics and swimming since her early school days, at Asean level, and has been a gold and silver medallist recipient for track and field events at the Asian Masters Athletic Championships from 2004 – 2016.

Dr Chan Chee Hon

Dr Chan Chee Hon graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience. Following this, he pursued his studies at the National University of Ireland (University College Cork) and qualified with Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Honours). He was conferred the distinguished title of College Scholar for outstanding academic achievement and the Irish Dental Council award for being the top student throughout the clinical course.

Dr Chan Ying Ho Henry

Dr Henry Chan was awarded the prestigious scholarship by the Human Manpower Development Program (HMDP) from the Ministry of Healthy Singapore and completed his Revision Hip and Knee arthroplasty fellowship at the Helios Endo-Klinik in Hamburg, Germany in 2014. It is the largest hip and knee reconstruction centre in Europe which perform more than 5000 joint replacement annually and specialized in complex revision hip and knee surgeries.

Since then, Dr Henry Chan has been spearheading the Joint Replacement Unit in Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in Tan Tock Seng Hospital and had performed more than 1000 joint replacements till date. He is well respected in the region and had been invited as an instructor for basic and advanced joint replacement courses in various countries including Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand and India.

Anaesthesiology

Dr Chang See Seong

Dr Chang See Seong is a Consultant Anaesthesiologist. He obtained his MBBS from the University of Melbourne and completed his Anaesthesiology and Surgical Intensive Care training in various Ministry of Health Institutions in Singapore. Prior to private practice, Dr Chang was a Consultant Anaesthesiologist and Intensivist at Changi General Hospital. During his time in public practice, he was heavily involved in the mentoring of medical students and trainee doctors. He was a clinical faculty at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, an adjunct instructor at DUKE-NUS medical school and a core faculty member of the Singhealth Residency Anaesthesiology Programme.

In 2019, he was awarded the “Outstanding Faculty Award” for his commitment and contribution to training of new Anaesthesiologists. Dr Chang’s other special interests include the use ultrasound guided regional anaesthesia to manage peri-operative pain for greater patient safety, experience and comfort. He has been invited as a lecturer and faculty at regional anaesthesia workshops locally and overseas. Dr Chang continues to support the public sector as a Visiting Consultant Anaesthesiologist in National University Hospital and Singapore National Eye Centre. He is conversant in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien, Teochew and Malay.

Hand Surgery

Dr Chee Kin Ghee

Dr Chee Kin Ghee is a Specialist Hand Surgeon specialising in hand & wrist injuries, elbow, arthritis, tumours, wrist arthroscopy, hand joint replacement and soft tissue reconstruction microsurgery In addition to common bony, soft tissue and nerve conditions of the upper limb, Dr Chee’s subspecialty and interest are in Hand and Wrist arthroplasty and arthroscopy which include joint replacement and reconstruction. He is trained in prosthetic and soft tissue joint reconstruction and replacement, as well as minimally invasive hand and wrist ligamentous injuries treatment. After completing his Hand Surgery Specialty training in Singapore, he pursued post-training subspecialty fellowship in United Kingdom (UK). He had the privilege to complete a 12-month fellowship training in Wrightington Hospital, Upper Limb Unit, which is one of the tertiary referral centres in the UK renowned for their pioneering work in modern joint replacement.

Anaesthesiology

Dr Daniel Phang

Dr Daniel Phang is a Singapore-certified anaesthesiologist and pain management physician. He is proficient in assessing and managing pain conditions through the use of image-guided intervention. These conditions range from musculoskeletal and mechanical, to degenerative, accident-related or caused by various disease and illness. Dr Daniel is a firm believer that ultrasound guided assessment and intervention enhances bedside assessment and care of patients in acute and chronic pain. It reduces procedural time and is more accurate in identifying areas causing pain.

His past experience includes a year-long Pain Management fellowship with the renowned Toronto Western Hospital. This institution are pioneers of ultrasound-guided and evidence-based pain medicine practice. He was mentored by Prof Philip Peng and Dr Anuj Bhatia, world renowned names in pain management.

Dr Errol Chan

Dr Chan has international experience in caring for patients with eye diseases, having practised at some of the most prestigious eye centers in the world. To date, he has performed thousands of cataract and vitreoretinal surgery procedures. Born and raised in Singapore, Dr Chan graduated MBBS from the National University of Singapore with Distinction and placement on the Dean’s List, and completed Ophthalmology specialist training at the National University Health System.

He was awarded scholarship by the Retina Foundation of Canada to pursue a Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellowship at McGill University in Canada, well-regarded for its high-volume retinal surgery program. He was also accepted in the highly-selective Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellowship at the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital London in the UK. With this experience, he offers a broad and current range of surgical treatments for retinal diseases. Having also trained in the Medical Retina and Uveitis Fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital London, he holds expertise in treatments for macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, as well as in retinal vascular, choroidal, and uveitic eye conditions.

His clinical experience extends to providing a wide range of intraocular lens options for patients with cataracts, particularly individuals desiring spectacle-freedom. As a vitreoretinal surgeon, his special interests also include complex cataract and secondary intraocular lens surgeries, including iris- and scleral-fixated implants. Most recently, he was Consultant Ophthalmologist in the UK, with a high-volume clinical practice in cataract and vitreoretinal surgery.

Dr Jaideep Raj Rao

Dr. Jaideep Raj Rao is the Senior Consultant Surgeon at JR surgery at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore and specializes in Minimal Access & Robotic Surgery, Bariatric & Metabolic Surgery, Gastrointestinal Surgery, Oncology Surgery & Hernia and Complex Abdominal Wall Reconstruction (Hernia Repair Surgery). Dr. Rao completed his basic and advanced surgical training in Tan Tock Seng Hospital & Singapore General Hospital, Singapore.

He was awarded the National Healthcare Human and Manpower Development Plan fellowship by the Ministry of Health in 2007 in Advanced Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery. Dr. Rao completed his fellowship at Seoul National University Hospital and Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, Korea in 2008. He was the Senior Consultant & Head of Upper Gastrointestinal, Bariatric & Minimal Access Surgery and Director of the Bariatric surgery program at Tan Tock Seng Hospital for the last 10 years before founding JR surgery.

Dr James Tan Chung Hui

Dr James Tan is a highly skilled surgeon who has more than 10 years of experience in sports surgery and exercise medicine. Apart from partnering the industry to pioneer advanced and proven treatment techniques, Dr Tan has treated athletes from the Singapore National Teams and professional footballers from the Singapore Premier League and the Young Lions. He is a member of the elite Asian Shoulder and Elbow Group and a founding member of the Singapore Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Society. His expertise is much sought after and he has chaired and instructed at many workshops and seminars in China, South Korea, India, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.

Dr Tan graduated from the Faculty of Medicine NUS and obtained Masters of Medicine (Orthopaedics). He is also a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh). He received further specialist training in the renowned Department of Sportsorthopaedics, Technical University of Munich, Germany, under the tutelage of Professor Andreas Imhoff. Dr Tan specializes in treating sports injuries of the knee, shoulder and elbow joints, as well as cartilage and meniscus surgery. He is also well versed in minimally invasive (key-hole) tendon and ligament repair, joint replacement and muscle-tendon transfers of the shoulder joint. Dr Jaspreet Singh

After having graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2007, I completed the Foundation Programme in the West of Scotland Deanery in 2009, rotating through various medical, surgical and emergency departments in the 2 years and gaining valuable clinical skills as a junior doctor in these departments.

There after I pursued my Master’s degree in clinical radiology in Singapore under the Singhealth Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program from 2011 to 2016. During this time I worked in several public sector hospitals obtaining a wide and deep exposure to a variety of conditions and patient from a radiological perspective.

After completing residency, I joined the National University Hospital System as a Diagnostic Radiologist at the Ng Teng Fong Hospital. Subsequently I joined Lifescan Imaging which is a private medical center with locations in Paragon mall and Novena medical center.

I report across all varieties of modalities and specialities. However, my special interests include Breast and Musculoskeletal radiology.

Dr Joey Donovan

Dr Joey Donovan graduated with an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Surgery from the National University of Ireland, followed by a certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and most recently a Doctorate in Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics from the same University. He has also been awarded a Diploma of Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons in England. He won multiple awards along this journey, including four College of Medicine and Health scholarships, the prestigious HH Stewart Scholarship, Tony Costello Medal, Irish Faculty of Primary Dental Care Bursary Award, Irish Endodontic Society Prize, as well as prizes in Restorative Dentistry, Pharmacology, Oral Surgery and Orthodontics.

Dr Joey limits his practice exclusively to orthodontics. He provides a full range of orthodontic services from straightforward treatments to complex surgical cases. He is proficient in the use of all types of orthodontic appliances, including clear aligners, growth modification appliances, as well as traditional metal, self-ligating and ceramic braces.

He is particularly keen on interceptive and growth treatments for younger children and adolescents. Educating and encouraging parents to bring their children to see an orthodontist early is important to him, as many orthodontic and related health problems can be solved much more easily during development. He uses appliances such as expanders, growth facemasks and functional appliances to improve growing children’s jaw function, breathing and appearance. He works closely with other paediatric specialists such as ENT and Children’s Dentists to ensure that simple problems are solved early and that the child is set up for a healthy future.

Gastroenterology

Dr John Hsiang

Dr. John Hsiang is a gastroenterologist and hepatologist who has more than 15 years of clinical experience. He spent more than 5 years in the Singhealth cluster serving in the Gastroenterology Department at Sengkang General Hospital.

Dr. Hsiang graduated from medical school in New Zealand in 2003 and completed all his specialist training in Auckland, New Zealand. In 2013, he spent two years as visiting scholar, in the prestigious gastroenterology unit in Prince of Wales Hospital and furthered his research career to complete a doctorate degree in liver disease research, under the world-renowned mentors, Professor Henry Chan.

Dr Hsiang has special clinical interests in managing fatty liver disease, viral hepatitis, Helicobacter pylori infection, effects of gut microbiome on irritable bowel syndrome and has extensive experience in gastrointestinal cancer screening.

Dr Hsiang can speak fluent mandarin, English and Hokkien. He is able to provide patient education seminars and radio talk shows in fluent mandarin, where he puts his patients at ease and great understanding of the complex medical conditions. He believes in empowering the patient with more knowledge to know more about his/her own medical condition so that the patient can be in control with the guidance of the doctor. He believes patients should walk out of the clinic with clear understanding in managing their medical conditions with more confidence.

Academically, Dr Hsiang has published over 25 studies with more than 600 citations, in the areas of hepatitis B, liver cirrhosis, fatty liver disease, H.pylori infection, colon polypectomy and hepatitis C. Other than interests in clinical research, Dr. Hsiang has been adj. A.professor in NUS and Duke-NUS medical schools and has provided medical education to the new doctors in training. He is also reviewers for several internationally renowned gastroenterology and hepatology journals. Currently, he is on the editorial board for journal Hepatoma Research Journal.

Dr Kevin Koo Oon Thien

Dr Kevin Koo is a fellowship-trained Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and previous Director of Foot and Ankle Service at the Singapore General Hospital with more than 15 years of experience. He is an Adjunct Assistant Professor with both NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine as well as Duke-NUS Medical School. He completed his medical training with the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2003. He was appointed as Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK, in 2009 and subsequently as Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK (Orthopaedics and Trauma) in 2014. He also obtained his Master of Medicine (Orthopaedic Surgery) from the National University of Singapore in 2013 and was appointed Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore in 2015.

Dr Khoo Kian Ming Andrew

Plastic Surgeon Dr Andrew Khoo received his basic medical training at The National University of Singapore Faculty of Medicine. He was awarded the Master of Medicine in Surgery in 1992 and went on to obtain fellowships from two prestigious institutions, the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.

He began his Specialist Plastic Surgery training at the Department of Plastic Surgery at the Singapore General Hospital. In 1996, he was awarded an HMDP scholarship by the Singapore Ministry of Health to further his specialty training at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Centre, one of the world’s foremost cancer hospitals.

Gastroenterology

Dr Lai Wai Kwan

Dr Vincent Lai attained his basic medical degree from the University of Sheffield in England in 1993. He had 5 years of specialist training in Gastroenterology and then sub-specialized a further 5 years in Hepatology in Birmingham UK, which has one of the largest Liver Transplant Units in Europe. During this time, he had exposure to general and transplant hepatology, with a particular interest in the management of acute liver failure and viral hepatitis. Dr Lai had gained comprehensive training in all areas of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in the investigation and management of gastrointestinal and liver conditions. In 2002, he was awarded the prestigious Medical Research Council Clinical Training Fellowship. He attained his Ph.D. degree from the University of Birmingham in 2007, investigating the liver immunity in viral hepatitis. Dr Lai was also actively involved in the care of patients with acute liver failure and the use of liver dialysis in these situations.

Eye Surgery

Dr Lee Pei Ling Cheryl

Dr Cheryl Lee is an ophthalmologist and eye surgeon who has returned to Singapore with more than ten years of experience in the United Kingdom, France and the United States. Since then she has been inducted to the Straits Times Hall of Fame for her work and passion related to conditions related to being short sighted.

She has received numerous accolades for her work in various fields of ophthalmology. This includes the Gold Medal and Book Prize in Ophthalmology from the National University of Singapore and the Marie Comer Anglian Prize in Ophthalmology from the University of Cambridge. She was also inducted into the SG50 Straits Times Hall of Fame.

Mostly recently, Dr Lee has received an award for performing 1000 EVO Visian Implantable Contact lens in Singapore in 2019.

Dr Lee is also conversant in English, Mandarin, Teochew, Hokkien, Cantonese, French, Spanish, Russian and Malay.

Plastic Surgery

Dr Leo Kah Woon

Dr Leo Kah Woon is an experienced Singapore Plastic Surgeon accredited by the Ministry of Health and currently runs his own plastic surgery practice, Dr Leo Aesthetic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, located at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre.

Dr Leo is experienced in modern techniques and best practices in cosmetic surgery as well as non-invasive methods of facial and body rejuvenation. He is regularly invited to speak at various local and international medical conferences where he trains and shares his expertise on aesthetic plastic and reconstructive surgery to fellow doctors.

In particular, Dr Leo is skilled in filler injections and has conducted live demonstrations and cadaveric dissections to demonstrate the proper techniques and effects of filler injections. Body contouring is also another one of Dr Leo’s main interest areas due to its versatility, potential and safety in the hands of an experienced surgeon. He has presented widely on this subject both regionally and internationally.

Dr Lewis Lee

Dr Lewis Lee graduated as a dentist in 1983 from the National University of Singapore and obtained a Masters in Oral Surgery in 1986. He followed this up with a Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1989. He then received recognition as a dental specialist in 1993 from the Academy of Medicine Singapore.

Dr. Lee underwent dental training in various institutions within the Ministry of Health Singapore, Singapore Armed Forces as well as a visiting dental specialist in the Royal Children; Royal Dental and Royal Melbourne Hospital in Australia.

Dr Lewis Lee holds an adjunct teaching post with the National University of Singapore Dental Faculty as well being a Visiting Dental Specialist with the National University Hospital. He was the President of the Singapore Dental Association in 2001 – 2003 and recently in 2007-2009 when Singapore hosted the World Dental Congress.

Dr Lee is married with 3 lovely kids and is an Elder of Hope Presbyterian, a Member of the Medical Missions Foundation and involved in various healthcare missions to Thailand; Indonesia; India and the Philippines. He is also very much involved in the lives of the young people within his church and sits on the Church Missions Committee.

Dr Lim Tai Tian

When Dr. Lim Tai Tian was working at NUS and NHC, he was the local principal investigator for a number of international multi center clinical trials both for medical devices and new drugs. His experimental work was in stent coatings for sustained drug release, which resulted in a number of patents. Dr. Lim is still involved in drug delivery systems, one of which is in clinical trials in humans in Europe. Dr Lim Wei Yang

Dr Lim Wei Yang is a consultant radiologist with experience in reporting both basic and advanced radiological imaging modalities such as CT and MRI. His clinical interest lies in musculoskeletal (MSK) imaging with special interest in MR imaging of sports related injuries and musculoskeletal pathologies. He graduated from National University of Singapore and is a fellow of the Royal College of Radiology (London).

Urology

Dr Michael Wong Yuet Chen

Dr Michael Wong is a Senior Consultant Urologist who is internationally recognized for his surgical expertise and academic contribution to the field of Urology, in particular the subspecialized field of minimally invasive Endourology.

Currently, he is the Medical Director and Senior Consultant of the Urology, Fertility and Gynaecology Centre at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital, as well as Associate Editor at the prestigious British Journal of Urology International since 2013.

Oncology

Dr Ooi Wei Seong

Dr Ooi Wei Seong is a medical oncologist who graduated from Trinity College Dublin with honours distinction in 1999. He started his oncology training at St Vincent’s University Hospital in Dublin and then spent three years at Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre in Toronto, Canada as a clinical fellow in oncology. He then returned to Singapore and obtained his specialist accreditation in medical oncology.

General Surgery

Dr Peter Goh Min Yih

Dr. Goh was awarded the President Scholarship by President Dr. Benjamin Sheares of Singapore in 1975. He graduated top of the medical class of 1980 from Singapore University. In 1984 he obtained the Fellowship of the Royal Colleges of Surgery in both Edinburgh and Glasgow.

On returning to Singapore he was appointed Lecturer and senior registrar at the National University and Singapore General Hospital.

In 1986 he was awarded a Fellowship for higher surgical training at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston. On returning to Singapore he joined the National University Hospital and was appointed Senior Lecturer and consultant surgeon.

Dr Reuben How

Dr Reuben How graduated from Otago, New Zealand with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2000. His first posting was with the United Dental Hospital of Sydney, (now renamed Sydney Dental Hospital) in which he received further experience and practice in general dentistry and oral surgery. He returned to Malaysia briefly before pursuing a Master degree in orthodontics at the University of Edinburgh, followed by further certification from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.

Dr Tan Choon Heng John

Dr. John Tan is a Consultant Vascular Surgeon in THE VEIN CLINIC in Paragon. He received his medical degree from NUS Medical School (1987) and obtained his postgraduate degree from the Fellowship of the Royal College of Edinburg (1991). After a satisfying career in General Surgery, Dr. Tan began to pursue his interest in Vein and Arterial Surgery and in 1996 he went for specialized training under Prof Peter Bell of the Royal Leicester Infirmary.

Dr. John Tan was the past Vice President of the Vascular Surgery Society of Singapore and the past Chief of Vascular Surgery and Director of Vascular Lab in Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He is currently a Member of the American College of Phlebology and a Visiting consultant to numerous hospitals.
On returning to Singapore he was appointed Lecturer and senior registrar at the National University and Singapore General Hospital.

In 1986 he was awarded a Fellowship for higher surgical training at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston. On returning to Singapore he joined the National University Hospital and was appointed Senior Lecturer and consultant surgeon.

Dr Tan Chuan Chien

Dr. Tan Chuan Chien is a Fellowship-trained Breast and Endocrine Surgeon practicing as a Consultant Surgeon at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore. He also sees patients at Mount Elizabeth Novena Specialist Centre and Parkway East Medical Centre. Dr. Tan is a registered Specialist Surgeon (General Surgery) in both Singapore and Australia.

Prior to setting up his own practice, Dr. Tan was a Senior Consultant at the Department of General Surgery, Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH) and Division of General Surgery (Breast Surgery), National University Hospital (NUH), Singapore. Dr Tan Nam Guan

Dr Tan Nam Guan has been an ENT Surgeon for over 25 years. He graduated with MBBS from the University of Singapore in 1985. He underwent Otolaryngology training in Singapore General Hospital and received advanced training at the University of Edinburgh, UK. He pursued his specialist training in Otolaryngology at the University of Edinburgh UK under Professor Arnoid Maran, and was named a Fellow ofthe Royal College of Surgeons in 1990. Dr Toh Keng Kiat

Dr Toh Keng Kiat graduated from the University of Singapore with a Bachelor’s in Medicine and Surgery in 1965 and completed his training at Edinburgh in haemato-oncology on scholarship. He then acquired further training in the Royal Marsden Hospital in London and the M D Anderson Cancer Centre in Houston, Texas USA. Dr Tony Ho Kee Wai

Dr Tony Ho MBBS, FRCS (Glasgow), FRCOphth (U.K.), FAMS is a senior consultant eye surgeon with special interests in cataract and refractive surgery, childhood myopia control and retinal diseases. He is an elected Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and recipient of the prestigious Singapore Public Service Commission Merit Scholarship. Dr Ho completed his medical degree and eye specialist training in Singapore.

Dr William Chong graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1985 with distinctions in Medicine, Oral Surgery and Operative Dentistry. He was accorded both the Singapore Dental Association and the Malaysian Dental Association’s Silver Medals, honours reserved for the top student in the fields of Medicine and Oral Surgery respectively. Dr Wong Hon Kiat

Bringing with him a wealth of experience and expertise from previous positions at the Ministry of Health and Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Dr. Wong Hon Kiat is eager to provide safe and thoughtful care for his patients. Dr. Wong has taken on many research projects over the years and subsequently published his findings in well-respected medical journals like the Eye Journal and Journal of Cataract & Refractive Surgery.

His research mainly concerns eye health in Asian populations. He has also given presentations about his research at international conferences in Singapore and around the world. In addition, Dr. Wong is a recipient of multiple awards, including those from the International Ophthalmology Congress and The Eye Institute.

Colorectal Surgery

Dr Wong Nan Yaw

Dr. Wong is a certified specialist general and colorectal surgeon. He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1993 with the degrees of MB,BS. After a few years of practice he developed a passionate interest for surgical diseases and decided to embark on a career in surgery.

He successfully obtained his Fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in 1998. The increasing incidence of colorectal cancers in South East Asia prompted him to sub-specialize in colorectal surgery.

Dr. Wong trained in the Department of Colorectal Surgery at the Singapore General Hospital, which is an internationally recognized center of excellence for the treatment of colorectal diseases.

Orthopaedics

Dr Yung Wai Yin Ambrose

Dr Ambrose Yung Wai Yin is a specialist orthopaedic consultant (knee replacement specialist) in Singapore Sports and Orthopaedic Clinic (SSOC) with many years of extensive experience in the following treatments: revision knee replacement, partial knee replacement, complex primary total knee replacement, minimal invasive knee and shoulder sports surgery.

Dr Ambrose Yung was awarded a 1-year fellowship in world renowned Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford University Hospital and Hip & Knee Division, Southampton University Hospital after getting his orthopaedic specialist qualification. During the years of his fellowship, Dr Ambrose was well trained in minimal invasive partial knee replacement and complex total knee replacement, computer navigational partial and total knee replacement.

Dr Yung was awarded the Minister for Health Award, Singapore for his contribution to medical relief in Indonesian Earthquake, 2006. He was also awarded Certificate of Honor, Hospital Authority of Hong Kong for his contribution (voluntary medical work) in fighting against SARS in 2003.
